Luton & Dunstable University Hospital Orthopaedic Out-patients Centre
Project Management Consultancy
The Luton and Dunstable University Hospital Orthopaedic Out-Patients Centre was a brand new unit that was built from the infilling and connection of two separate units, Travelodge and an existing NHS facility. Works included: the full clearance and demolition of the site with the removal of asbestos materials plus the construction and refurbishment of reception, waiting rooms, X-Ray and 11 treatment rooms and the installation of all M&E.
This was a challenging project as new uprated mains service supplies, water, gas and electricity had to be scheduled and connected to the new centre to allow the M&E install and commissioning of the X-Ray equipment that came from Germany. All works had to allow for a seamless transition of appointments for the staff and public with Travelodge remaining fully operational and so the programme and deliveries were designed around this factor.
Following completion the Clinic was inspected by the Care Quality Commission and achieved an “Excellent” rating.
