Project Manager

Job Description

GSCI are recruiting a London/Home Counties based Project Manager with construction sector experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support Senior Project Managers in generating a high standard of service delivery and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider. They will achieve positive outcomes for our clients and play a key role in professionally managing construction and development projects of varying size and complexity across the healthcare sector.

The candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Technically qualified in project management or another related technical profession
  • Preferably holds full membership of a chartered institute in the construction industry
  •  Has significant experience as a Project Manager gained in project environments
  •  Experienced in line managing junior project managers
  • Knowledgeable or accredited in NEC3
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Well-organised, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, diplomatic, respectful and flexible

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Undertake and lead the delivery of a range of commissions whilst providing support on various other projects
  • Delivering plans for projects under their control and monitoring performance taking corrective action where appropriate to achieve positive project outcomes
  • Ensuring effective communication continues throughout the life of the commission
  • Working within the project management team in developing project management expertise, processes and procedures to ensure a quality assured service delivery 
  • Developing and improving the performance of the team
  • Leading /providing support in managing the profit and loss of a portfolio of projects whilst achieving against financial targets
  • Ensuring the use of best practice.
  • Proactively monitor progress to ensure that all commissions are managed in line with company values, current financial instructions, and processes, and in compliance with appropriate legislation, statutory approvals and mandatory standards
